Get-together of the minds who have invented 5G and keep re-inventing it
Brooklyn 5G Summit was the very first get-together of the industry on 5G starting back in 2014 and has been spearheading innovation in 5G New Radio and 5G architecture. From day one, the Summit has been key in exploring the usage of new mmWave spectrum and other technologies that have formed 5G New Radio. It is the Summit where key decision makers from leading operators such as AT&T, DoCoMo, KT, T-Mobile US, Verizon and Vodafone provide guidance to the industry. In particular, the event showcases the latest progress in North America as one of the lead markets for 5G and has been influential as regards FCC rulemaking. It has encouraged the 5G ecosystem, by supporting companies small and large to exhibit their latest innovations and receive a broad range of perspectives from academia and industry associations.
Several technology milestones and world’s first showcases
In prior years at this event, we have seen several 5G technologies for the first time such as mmWave at 10Gbps in 2015, Massive MIMO, 5G robot control and a solar-panel-powered basestation.
Crystallization point for the next wave of 5G innovation
Like in previous years, the 2018 event will showcase and discuss the latest from the 5G innovation frontier. In particular, Nokia Bell Labs will highlight the latest advances in mmWave hardware, full network automation with AI, and 5G-enabled remote, automated control for a variety of 5G applications.
